Join the many voices sharing their support now for defeating meningitis
On 28th September, the Global Roadmap to Defeat Meningitis will be launched by the World Health Organization (WHO). For the first time, countries will unite behind a global effort to defeat meningitis and provide meaningful aftercare to survivors and their families.
The launch provides an opportunity for your voice to be heard by global leaders at this once in a lifetime Roadmap launch. We need to show them how much people want to see meningitis defeated – the more voices we get the stronger the call to action.
Use the form to submit your message that celebrated the launch of the roadmap. This could be a photo, video, or even an audio file if you’d like. This will then be added to our gallery of support which will be shown at the Roadmap launch, for all to see, as proof of public support for the Roadmap. This will encourage global leaders to take action and help defeat meningitis.
Your voice deserves to be heard. Be part of history and show your support for the WHO Global Roadmap to Defeat Meningitis.
My husband recently passed away from Pyogenic meningitis and and tuberculoma meningitis. I have heard of these types of meningitis. it so sudden, my husband died within 5 days of being diagnosed with these. I live in South Africa, apparently I feel like no one in communities like mine are aware of these bacterial infections. I am still in denial and I feel like little was done to save my husband. I feel like more should have been done. I have so many questions regarding these bacterial infections. is my country aware of the devastating medical and emotional impact of these meningitis? are there any meningitis awareness day, week or month in my country?

Meningitis doesn't discriminate....young or old, poor or rich, male or female....it can be deadly within hours....IF you survive, you are likely to have life changing consequences of having it. Having had TWO of our children die due to Meningitis, and our living child being at high risk of contracting/developing Meningitis due to a genetic condition, defeating Meningitis is a must for our family and for everyone worldwide
These pictures are of Jamie Schanbaum and Nick Springer both USA paralymic atheletes both survived Meningitis but at great loss of their limbs. This did not stop Jamie nor Nick from speaking Nationally & Globally to educate and spread awareness & knowledge for both Meningitis Vaccines ACWY and MenB. It is through great sadness that Nick Springer passed away this year from the toll that Meningitis took on his body but never on his will to live. We will miss Nick Springer
